Samsung Pay App has been finally launched in India. Indians look to shift to newer payment methods after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetization exercise. Now, you don’t need to carry any credit or debit card with you. Your mobile will be your money machine. The new payments solution will work with most major banks, UPI, and Paytm.
Samsung had started signing up users for early access to the new payments method. And currently owners of the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy A5 (2016), and Galaxy A7 (2016) can register online to be eligible for early access of the mobile payments service.
Samsung Pay App partner banks and UPI integration:
Partner banks for Samsung Pay at launch include Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, SBI, Standard Chartered, and American Express. Citibank will become an issuing partner soon, with its credit cards set to supported in the near future. As mentioned above, Samsung Pay users can link their Paytm Wallet to the service.
